An Image to Define the Day
Ok, so I ended up getting a DSLR camera (a D40) so to encourage me to use it, I’m going to (try to) put up a photo every day along with a short explanation. Of course, since my life is mundane, this series will be quite boring, sorry.

I visited NYC this weekend with my brother, who I was seeing off to Ecuador. We meant to go to a DIFFERENT woodhaven blvd stop (apparently there are two in the NYC subway systems) and ended up in what I can only describe as Little Mexico. While it was unplanned, it was an interesting detour, as it showed a part of NYC I hadn’t seen.

I have been playing the Sims 3. My latest character wants to master logic, and plays a lot of chess. When he beats somone, I put them in a tiny room to die.

MIT and how you can reflect here. Or something. I don’t know.
Lets examine this, as a photo, and see whats wrong with it
- As it was pointed out for the next one as well (bees!) The photo is grainy
- This is because I had my ISO on the largest possible. I honestly don’t know why. I think I might be retarded. I mean, I know better technically to do such things, especially when it was so sunny, but there’s no real excuse for retardedness, I guess.
- The colors of the background and what the MIT is reflecting is too similiar, the boundaries are unclear. Maybe thats some sort of… I dunno, metaphor for something, maybe.

This isn’t always true, sometimes people take pretty good photos. Ahmed(?) took these, a student from Singapore to wanted to try my camera. Today, we took a ride on the Boston tour trolley thing, and I met a bunch of new students from Singapore. Now, I am pretty bad with names to begin with, but their hard to pronounce names made it impossible. Today might warrant an actual post.

So typically when people see my camera, they pick it up, and try to take a picture. However I usually leave it on manual, so its sort of complicated to put it into shooting shape. This results in most of my guest pictures looking like the above. I should just leave it on manual, I guess.

My brother visited me this weekend, so we got to hang out and play video games. I wish I had something more exciting to show him, so that my life looks interesting in someway, but I guess that’d be false. It was still nice having him around.

My friend from back home is visiting for his brother’s graduation. His whole family is here, so I got to hang out with them. Being Mexicans, their first stop was the Garment District, where you can buy used clothes at a per pound rate. The people in the picture are his mom & sister.

Had orientation for the summer UROP program I’m doing this summer. I’m working at Gambit, where we make video games to answer research questions. We found out which groups we were in at when they introduced the groups via group slide with everyone’s pictures. My priorities being what they are, I scanned the groups for cute Singaporean girls before looking to see if I was even in the group.

Yes. Thats a deer propelling itself with poop.
Played through Castle Crashers with Furry. A screenshot sort of seemed like cheating, so instead I double arted it by drawing something from the game, namely, a chibiknight riding a deer that is crapping itself with terror. Also, please note that I cannot draw, or plan out lettering.
